Application

Pressure Reducing Valves protect household water installations for industrial or commercial applications within the range of their specification. By installing a pressure reducing valve, pressurisation damage is avoided and water consumption is reduced. The set pressure is also maintained constant even when there is wide inlet pressure fluctuation. Reduction of the operating pressure and maintaining it at a constant level minimizes flow noise in the installation.

Method of Operation

Spring loaded pressure reducing valves operate by means of a force equalising system. The force of a diaphragm operates against the force of an adjustment spring. If the outlet pressure & therefore diaphragm force fall because water is drawn, the then greater force of the spring causes the valve to open. The outlet pressure then increases until the force between the diaphragm & the spring are equal again. The inlet pressure has no influence in either opening or closing of the valve. Because of this, inlet pressure fluctuation does not influence the outlet pressure.

Different models of prv

PRV - W3

W3 is the most commonly used PRV in Hi-rise building applications as most of the inlet and outlet pressure requirements fall within the W3's specs. Also, the W3 has maximum no. of variants with different choices in body material, built-in filter choices, end connection, spring material etc. Know more

PRV - W21

The W21 PRV in ½” and ¾” sizes is mostly used for branch lines outside bathroom/kitchen or for safety of individual apparatus like boiler, water purifier etc. The cost economics of UPVC body option has now enabled the use of single stack downtake design with one prv for each bathroom/ kitchen instead of one prv catering to many floors. click to see advantages of single stack design perfect for maximized water conservation as this system- . PRV - LP3

The LP3 is the worlds first elbow PRV . An extension of the W3 designed to bring diaphragm technology at price of piston technology . Has a great combination of price, performance and better flow rates too. Another big plus is the low scrap value of SS material thereby reducing chances of theft from sites. Know more

PRV - W6

W6 becomes the obvious choice for higher sizes in flanged end connections (65, 80, 100mm). for ease of installation of these bulky sizes. . Know more

PRV - VL

The VL is used where lower outlet pressures (0.5 to 2 bar) are needed. This low pressure need arises either when PRV is to be installed some floors above the point of use (due to duct space limitation etc.), Or When - Know more

PRV - VH

The VH is to be used when higher o/p pressures (above 5 bar) are needed which the standard W3 cannot support (though the range of VH is 1.5 to 10 bar). This need arises mostly in hydropneumatic type systems and where PRVs have to be installed in basement only ( and not in ducts outside apartments) for reasons like ease of access; limited space in duct; or inaccessible ducts . A F C

These are pilot operated, but diaphragm type flanged PRVs. And used for sizes of 150mm and above or also in 65mm to 100mm PRV where higher o/p pressures 6 bar onwards are needed in sizes of 65mm and above ; these are in D.I body with corrosion resistant food grade epoxy coating.
